A l’occasion de son concert exclusif, Fruteland Jackson sera accompagné par le légendaire pianiste de blues et boogie-woogie Bob Hall et Hilary Blythe à la basse et au chant.

Fruteland Jackson, die uit Mississippi stamt en in Chicago is opgegroeid, is een van de weinige Amerikaanse artiesten die zichzelf tot hoofddoel heeft om de originele akoestische blues in al zijn vormen te bewaren en live te brengen. Hiervoor kreeg hij in 1997 van de blues foundation de "Keeping the blues alive" award. Hij ziet zichzelf als een blues activist en geeft tijdens zijn optredens o.a. in scholen, festivals en culturele centra uitleg over de evolutie vanaf de eerste bluesverschijnselen zoals de "field hollers" of "worksongs" op de plantages tot de Delta en Piedmont stijl. Tijdens zijn exclusieve optreden op Spring Blues zal Fruteland Jackson begeleid worden door de legendarische blues- en boogie-woogiepianist Bob Hall en Hilary Blythe op bas en vocals.

Fruteland Jackson specializes in performing acoustic blues, from contemporary to traditional, from the blues of early field-holler songs and work songs to Delta and Piedmont Blues, as well as his own original works. He is one of a select group of Americans dedicated to gathering, preserving and performing acoustic blues, in all their various forms. As an oral historian, Fruteland has taken his extensive knowledge of blues history to schools, colleges and universities, all over America. Fruteland Jackson will be backed by the great Bob Hall, who is acknowledged as Britain’s finest blues and boogie pianist, and Bob’s long-time partner, Hilary Blythe, on bass and vocals.
