Pour la première fois en Europe avec son excellent groupe, Mac Arnold est l’un des maillons originaux de la chaîne du blues. Ancien bassiste de Muddy Waters, Mac a enregistré et travaillé avec les plus grands comme John Lee Hooker, Otis Spann et Tyrone Davis avant de poursuivre brillamment sa carrière musicale en Californie. Depuis les années 1980, Mac a regagné sa ferme de Caroline du Sud, où, à l’âge de dix ans, il prit goût au blues en jouant sur la guitare rudimentaire que lui avait confectionnée son frère. L’énergie et la vitalité coulent plus que jamais dans ses veines ! Old school blues at its finest!

De muziekcarriere van Mac Arnold begon in 1965 toen hij zanger-bassist werd bij A.C. Reed, die hem even later introduceerde bij Muddy Waters. Daarna speelde Mac met bluesgrootheden als John Lee Hooker, Otis Spann en Tyrone Davis. In de jaren 70 trok hij naar L.A., waar hij o.a. met Bill Withers werkte. Midden jaren 80 had hij genoeg van het vele touren en trok hij zich terug op zijn boerderij in South Carolina. Daar wisten enkele bluesfanaten hem rond de eeuwwisseling te overhalen om opnieuw aan het musiceren te slaan en zijn allereerste Europese tour te maken. Mac Arnold speelt onversneden Chicagoblues, o.a. op zijn gas can guitar (een zessnarig instrument dat in 1947 door zijn broer werd uitgevonden). Old school blues at its finest!

Mac Arnold, former bass player for the legendary Muddy Waters is one of the original links in the blues chain. Having recorded with John Lee Hooker, Otis Spann, and Tyrone Davis, he has truly left his footprints in the blues foundation and is still making tracks! Mac now resides in Pelzer, S.C. where at the age of ten he got his first taste of the Blues when he learned to play his brother's homemade guitar. Going back to his roots, Mac is serving up a mess of Blues with his own band Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues! From the juke joints of Chicago to the set of Soul Train, the music is still rushing strong and pure through his veins. Old school blues at its finest!
