Groupe fondé en 1972 à Washington D.C. par le chanteur/harmoniciste virtuose Mark Wenner, The Nighthawks donnent en moyenne 250 concerts par an à travers le monde. Avec un sens de la scène hors du commun, mixant habilement blues, rock et soul avec parfois une touche de rockabilly et de swing, ils ont fait du "roots rock" bien avant que le terme lui-même soit inventé. Les infatigables et légendaires Nighthawks ne se sont plus produits en Belgique depuis de nombreuses années. Avec Paul Bell à la guitare, Johnny Castle à la basse et le nouveau batteur Mark Stutso, The Nighthawks sont, selon la presse et les fans, plus solides et énergiques que jamais. The Nighthawks staan bekend als een van de betere blanke blues bands. Met hun swingende elektrische blues touren ze onafgebroken de wereld over, de zalen op hun kop zettend. Onder aanvoering van harmonicavirtuoos/zanger Mark Wenner bestaan ‘The Hawks’ inmiddels 37 jaar en spelen jaarlijks nog zo’n 250 concerten. De huidige bezetting met Paul Bell op gitaar, Johnny Castle op bas en Mark Stutso op drums wordt door pers en fans de hemel in geprezen. Op 15 mei worden The Nighthawks in Ecaussinnes geboekt voor één enkel Belgisch concert. Zeker niet te missen.

Over the last 30 plus years, The Nighthawks have earned a reputation as one of the best and hardest working bands around. Some of their widest acclaim has come for being one of the first "white boy" blues bands of their generation and for putting on a great live show. Among the top musical acts to come out of the Washington, D.C. area-and still based there The Nighthawks were a roots rock band before there was such a thing as “roots rock.”. Having played all over the U.S. The Nighthawks have also toured around the world, establishing especially strong followings in Germany and Japan. Founded in 1972 by vocalist/harmonica player Mark Wenner, the band's current line-up includes Paul Bell on guitar, Johnny Castle on bass and Mark Stutso on drums. Many fans think this latest group of "Hawks" might be the best ever !
